Overview
AuArgus - short for Audit Argus, named for the hundred-eyed watchman of Greek myth who never fully slept - is a complete practice-automation platform built specifically for Indian CA firms. Twenty-four modules cover the work a practice actually runs: GST reconciliation and returns, TDS, income-tax filing seasons, notices and litigation, statutory audit deliverables, payroll, banking, double-entry books, Schedule III financial statements, practice billing, a client portal with automated document collection, and a firm-wide document cabinet. An AI layer runs through every screen - grounded answers from your own live numbers, drafted replies and vouchers, an agentic assistant that acts on plain-language instructions - and every AI output is a draft behind a professional-review gate. Every screen is on this site in the UI tour - captured from the working platform with two years of lived-in demo data on it.
The business problem
A CA firm's month is scattered across spreadsheets, portals, email, WhatsApp and memory. GSTR-2B is matched line by line by hand; the deadline calendar lives in someone's head; document collection means chasing clients over three channels; notices sit in a drawer until the reply window is nearly gone; and the honest answer to "where are we?" takes a day to assemble. Point tools solve one slice each and create their own reconciliation problem. The practice needs one system after the accounting software - not eleven.
Who it is for
- CA firms and sole practitioners
- Partners who need one live view of the firm
- Managers running GST, TDS and audit teams
- Article assistants doing the preparation work
- The firm's clients, on their own portal
Capabilities
Key features
ReconEye - GSTR-2B vs purchase register auto-matching with a three-pass engine and an exception workbench that shows the ITC actually at risk
GST Studio - outward register to GSTR-1 (offline-tool JSON export), GSTR-3B workpapers that auto-fill ITC from reconciliation, annual GSTR-9/9C prep
TDS Suite - deductees, auto-rated payments, challan register, 26Q/24Q builders with short-deposit flags, Form 16/16A on letterhead
ITR Suite - season workspace with document checklists, old-vs-new regime optimizer, 26AS and AIS reconciliation, capital-gains import, UDIN-gated certificates
NoticeDesk + CaseDesk - notice PDF to AI analysis to a drafted reply on letterhead, then full litigation tracking with limitation-period alarms and hearing calendars
Audit - AuditMate workpapers with a prepare-review-sign-off state machine, plus Form 3CD auto-fillers, CARO 2020, SA-700 report generation and SA-505 confirmations
AuArgus Books - real double-entry bookkeeping, balanced to the paisa by construction, with plain-language AI voucher entry behind a review gate
PayrollPro - full statutory engine (EPF, ESI, PT, new-regime TDS), payslips, full-and-final settlements with gratuity
ClientHub - client portal with checklist-driven document requests, automated follow-up, email intake with AI classification, bills and a message thread
FinCraft - Schedule III financial statements with comparatives, CMA data and project reports, fixed-asset register with dual depreciation
CompliTrack - the firm-wide filings board: every client, every due date, per-GSTIN, with evidence-gated filing (nothing is 'filed' without an acknowledgement)
Ask Argus - AI answers grounded ONLY in the firm's live numbers, with figure-checking; Do-mode executes plain-language instructions as reviewable drafts with one-click rollback
Benefits
- One system replaces the spreadsheet sprawl - matched lines close themselves and people work only the exceptions
- Nothing surfaces for the first time at the deadline: due dates, notices, limitation periods and expiries all alarm in advance
- Document collection runs itself - requests, reminders, portal uploads and email intake land classified and filed
- Every AI output is a draft a professional reviews - the platform never files, signs or decides on its own
- Partners get a live desk: unreviewed workpapers, pending drafts, stuck receivables and the week's hearings in one queue
- The proof is on this site: a screen-by-screen UI tour of every module, captured from the working platform with two years of realistic data
Integrations
- Tally (XML vouchers in and out)
- Email for reminders, dunning and digests
- Built-in workflow automation for schedules and follow-ups
- Private AI - client data never trains or transits public AI services
- GST offline-tool JSON, TRACES-format files, bank statement imports
- Designed-in connector seams for GSP, ERI, TRACES, MCA and Account Aggregator APIs (activation pending commercial onboarding)
Deployment options
- Managed cloud (SaaS) - hosted and operated by PASDACS
- Dedicated private environment for larger practices
- Guided pilot onboarding
Security
Sign-in with TOTP multi-factor authentication and login rate limiting; granular per-module permissions (none/view/edit) with partner, manager, staff and client roles; the client portal is hard-isolated from every firm surface and verified by a permanent cross-tenant audit test. Client portal credentials live in an encrypted vault where every reveal is manager-gated and logged. Filings cannot be marked filed without evidence, audit trails are append-only, and backups run nightly with restore drills and an alarm if they ever go stale. AI inference runs on private infrastructure - client data never trains or transits public AI models.
How it compares
Others vs us, feature by feature
"Others" below means the typical stack a firm assembles today - point tools, spreadsheets and portals - described fairly. Every "we" claim is live product behaviour, most of it enforced in code rather than promised in policy.
| Feature | Others - typical tools | We - AuArgus |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | One tool per slice - a GST utility, a practice tracker, a DMS - and spreadsheets carrying the joins between them. | 24 live modules on one spine: everything after the accounting software, one login, one client master. |
| AI in the workflow | A chat window bolted on; answers come from nowhere in particular and get pasted straight into work products. | Review-gated AI throughout: every output is a draft a professional approves, grounded answers are figure-checked against live data, and the gate has caught a real model error before it touched a ledger. |
| Marking a filing done | "Filed" is a checkbox anyone can tick, with or without proof. | Evidence-gated: a task cannot be marked filed without an acknowledgement, SRN or filed copy - the platform refuses it otherwise. |
| Client data & AI privacy | Client documents and numbers transit public AI services under a consumer-grade privacy policy. | Private AI inference: client data never trains or transits public AI models, and the platform stays fully demoable with no AI configured at all. |
| Audit trail | Editable logs, if logs exist at all. | Append-only trails across sign-offs, vault access, case timelines and agentic actions - written as the work happens. |
| Review discipline | Reviewer independence is a convention that survives until deadline week. | Enforced in code: a preparer cannot review their own workpaper, edits clear stale reviews, sign-off locks the paper. |
| UDIN discipline | UDINs tracked in a register spreadsheet; reuse is discovered later, if ever. | Single-use enforcement across audit reports and certificates - reusing a UDIN is rejected by the platform. |
| Bookkeeping integrity | Balances imported and trusted; an unbalanced entry is found at year-end. | One balanced write path - debits equal credits to the paisa by construction, and no route can bypass it. |
| ICAI ceilings | Partners count tax-audit and company-audit engagements by hand, per season. | A live ceilings monitor watches the 60-per-partner and section 141(3)(g) limits from actual engagements and signed letters. |
| Client portal isolation | The client portal and the firm's data are one misconfigured filter apart. | The portal is hard-isolated from every firm surface - verified continuously by a cross-tenant audit test that once caught a real leak. |

Getting started
Implementation & pricing
Implementation timeline
Onboarding is guided: your clients, your compliance calendar and your letterheads are set up with you - typically a matter of weeks, not months. Tally data comes across via XML from day one.
Pricing
Offered as a managed subscription (SaaS). AuArgus is live as a demonstration platform while onboarding opens to pilot firms - talk to us for pilot terms. No public price list yet; we would rather show you the working product first.
